@SackVileKylefb OPSM believes in promoting positive messages in the media. We’ve acted today to ensure this is reflected in our advertising. ( @OPSM http://www.facebook.com/OPSMAU )

(Via facebook) Mazda Australia Thanks for bringing that to our attention Josie, we had requested all advertising be pulled from the show. We are correcting this oversight as we speak and it should be gone soon. Thanks again, Luke (http://www.facebook.com/mazdaaus?sk=wall @MazdaAus )

Kia Australia Just an update; we're communicating to our agency that the banners be removed. Will update you soon. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention :) http://www.facebook.com/KiaAustralia

Warner Bros. Movie World - Gold Coast, Australia Hello, Thank you for your comment. Our advertisements did indeed appear on the 2Day FM website, however this is in no way a direct endorsement of Kyle Sandilands or his program. The ads in question have now been removed http://www.facebook.com/movieworldgoldcoast

Jenny Craig "One thing about Jenny Craig is that we listen. We listen, we understand and we make an enormous effort to walk in the shoes of others.
We badly misjudged public perception of Kyle Sandilands. We have taken what has been said seriously. Mel B has happily been part of the 2DAY FM Breakfast show for the better part of last year. Our intention was to support our ambassador in her broader media role.
We feel sorry we have offended so many people, underestimated the sentiment against Kyle and are clearly upset that we made such a mistake. We have instructed 2DAY FM that our advertising is to be discontinued on the Kyle & Jackie O show, and the rest of their schedule immediately." https://www.facebook.com/jennycraigausnz

ING DIRECT Australia Hi, we do not have any advertisements on this webpage - they were all removed. @INGDIRECTAUS @CEO_INGDIRECTAU http://www.facebook.com/INGDIRECTAUS

SEA WORLD - Hi Melanie, No we dont advertise with his show http://www.facebook.com/seaworldgoldcoast

Westpoint Shopping Centre wrote: "Hi Kate, This generic ad randomly appears throughout the Today FM website. We are currently in the process of getting it removed from the Kyle and Jackie O homepage. Thanks for the heads up tho :)"  https://www.facebook.com/westpointblacktown

Commonwealth Bank http://www.facebook.com/commonwealthbank @CommBank @JassyOakley Thanks very much for your comment Jas. Commonwealth Bank does not advertise on the Kyle and Jackie O program.

StyleTrend have requested their media buyers not use 2dayfm We received some feedback yesterday about StyleTread display ads that were on the Kyle and Jackie O webpage and we're sorry if that was offensive to anyone. StyleTread aren't actively advertising or targeting that site.
To get a little technical (because its not quite straight-forward) our web advertising is through various networks of display ad publishers, which then in turn feature our ads on w...ebsites that subscribe to those publishers. What this means is that we are not able to control or exclude certain sites within a publishers network - this is an automatic 3rd party process. We have requested that publisher to exclude this site if possible and have also excluded that site on another network on which we have more control.
Thank you for your feedback and we will keep an active watch on this.
Happy regards, Alex, Customer Happiness Manager

William Blue College of Hospitality http://www.facebook.com/wbcollege
Car History www.facebook.com/carhistory?sk=wall  CarHistory.com.au can confirm that we are not advertising on any radio programs fronted by Kyle Sandilands. We have been made aware in recent days that a banner promoting CarHistory.com.au had appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O webpage as part of a wider promotion. This was not intentional on our behalf and we have been assured by the station that this will no longer appear. We appreciate the ongoing interest and concern that is being shown on this issue
The Art Gallery of NSW has postponed advertising on the Kyle and Jackie O show. The Southern Cross Austereo network is a partner of the Picasso Exhibition and as part of the agreement we receive advertising across their programs nationwide.... Because it is a sponsorship arrangement, the Gallery does not dictate when and where announcements are scheduled. The network has been a supporter of the current Picasso exhibition, for which we are grateful. However, given the current situation, the Art Gallery of NSW has postponed advertising for the time being on the Today FM breakfast program.

Westpoint  Thanks for your message. We share your disappointment – we requested that the ads be removed from the Kyle and Jackie O page of the 2DayFM website and unfortunately this has not occurred.
...
We have been advised that 2DayFM are still in the process of adjusting their web content as per our direction – please be assured we are in constant contact with our advertising team to get this resolved as a priority.

We hope to see you back in the Centre sometime soon. Thanks again from the Westpoint team

Open letter to media personalities

As someone who is a respected media personality, we at Sack Vile Kyle need your support.

As you know following his latest vitriolic attack on a female journalist, Kyle Sandilands continues to provide his employers with more shock than jock. Indeed this man’s deplorable excuse for entertainment has led to public outcry on social media networks Facebook and Twitter, and has spurred the rise of a petition securing over 32,000 signatures from angry Australians demanding the radio station 2dayfm clean up the public air waves and “Sack Vile Kyle.” But Southern Cross Austereo is oblivious to the power... of public pressure refusing to accept that this man’s reign of vulgarity has run its course with decent people simply fed up with this monster’s personal and threatening assaults on innocent and unsuspecting human beings. Surely at some point common sense and decency must prevail? Yet it seems that SCA remains unmoved by the mass exodus of 68 major sponsors who have withdrawn their advertising campaigns from 2dayfm in 2011 of which 28 have pledged to continue their boycott into 2012 banning station from running their advertisements on the Kyle & Jackie O show and website.

The list of public violations by Kyle Sandilands would rival that of any child’s to Santa. He recently shed kilos in preparation for his return to radio, but already the public is asking “has he shed the attitude?” We think not! Kyle Sandilands may try to curb his tongue but this man is in serious need of anger management and it will take more than a slap on the wrist and a well rehearsed apology by Austereo to convince the public that he is worth keeping “on air”.

Kyle Sandilands is by no means the first, nor will he be the last of notorious radio “shock jock” personalities but in the words of popular song lyric, if “video killed the radio star” then just think how much damage such radio star’s can cost its sponsors if its listeners turn to social media to vent their disgust? But it’s not just the public there have been many media personalities in the past, who have expressed disgust at Kyle’s appalling behaviour, and who are as equally perplexed as to how or why Kyle is allowed to get away with it, time and time and time again?

If you're not afraid of being called a “fat slag” or threatened that he may “hunt you down” please speak up against this type of inexcusable behaviour and help us in our campaign to keep the entertainment industry clear of moving violations such as Kyle Sandilands. It’s people like you who can influence those who choose to condone Kyle’s antics. As a respected media personality of good character and admirable following please let it be known (by adding your name or comments below, retweeting this message or any other public acknowledgement of your disgust at Kyle's behaviour) and help send the message that you won’t sit back quietly and allow this man to ruin an industry that deserves better! We need more people like you, not more vile like Kyle types!

Media Statement 13th Jan 2012

In late 2011, shortly after Kyle's personal attacks against a popular Australian journalist about her breast size, calling her a "piece of s---" and threatening to "Watch your mouth girl, or I will hunt you down." in response to her honest assessment of a TV program hosted by Kyle, SACK VILE KYLE was created on Facebook by a group of Australians who were fed up with Kyle's insincere apologies and Southern Cross Austereo’s defence of Kyle's comments. Since then SACK VILE KYLE has actively worked with change.org and Collective Shout to campaign the removal of Kyle Sandilands and the restoration of quality radio programming to our public air waves. With Kyle returning to the airwaves on Monday 16th January, SACK VILE KYLE will continue this campaign for as long as it takes for Kyle to be removed.

Following his latest vitriolic attack on a female journalist, Kyle Sandilands continues to provide his employers with more shock than jock. Indeed this one man misogynist band’s deplorable excuse for entertainment has led to public outcry on social media networks Facebook and Twitter, and has spurred the rise of a petition of more than 32,000 signatures all demanding the radio station 2dayfm clean up the public air waves and “Sack Vile Kyle” (http://www.change.org/petitions/2day-and-fox-fm-sponsors-cancel-advertising-until-kyle-sandilands-is-dumped-from-radio-vilekyle). But Southern Cross Austereo is somewhat slow to accept that this man’s reign of vulgarity has run its course and that people are simply tired of listening to both his and the stations’ excuses for his verbal outbursts.

Perhaps SCA executives feel that Mr Sandilands’ string of public violations is to be condoned, at least by their paying sponsors. They (SCA) certainly don’t care about the public’s best interests whose frustrations expressed in thousands of signatures, phone calls, emails, Facebook and twitter messages continue to go unheard, but for how long? How many more appalling displays of bad behaviour does that public have to endure? Is the long list of offences not long enough already?

April 2010
On The Kyle and Jackie O Show on 2Day FM, Sandilands and Jackie O interviewed three of golfer Tiger Woods’s former mistresses, with Sandilands asking one of them in reference to the size of the star's genitals if he was a ‘‘massive donkey’’. When she responded with yes, he asked her: ''Were you surprised, [saying] 'Man, you're half Asian, half black, obviously the half black is what's going on downstairs'?''

September 2009
On his radio show, Sandilands suggested Australian comedian Magda Szubanski, who was a spokeswoman for a weight-loss company, would lose more weight in a concentration camp. Szubanski is of Polish origin, a country where many of the worst Nazi concentration camps were located.

July 2009
A 14-year-old girl appeared on Sandilands' 2Day FM show, strapped to a lie detector to be questioned by Sandilands, Jackie O and the girl's mother. After the girl revealed she was raped at the age of 12 in response to a question from her mother, Sandilands said: ''Right ... is that the only experience you’ve had?'' Public outrage followed and Sandilands was sacked from his job as a judge on Australian Idol by Channel Ten.

October 2006
As a judge on Australian Idol, Sandilands described contestant Bobby Flynn as a ''full mong''. The term "mong'' refers to mongoloids and has been used in the past as a label for people with Down Syndrome. Sandilands' manager said at the time the comment was taken out of context and was a ‘‘slang term’’ and not meant to refer to people with Down Syndrome. A fortnight earlier he told contestant and eventual runner-up Jessica Mauboy she should ''lose the jelly belly'' if she wanted to succeed.

August 2006
On his radio show, Sandilands called a heavily pregnant journalist, Fiona Connolly, a ‘'fat toad'’, ‘'fat lying mole'’ and ‘'little cretin'’, after a column she wrote about faked phone calls on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

October 2005
As a judge on Australian Idol, Sandilands criticised the weight of contestant Kate DeAraugo (who went on to win the 2005 Australian Idol), telling her she had ''tuckshop lady arms''.

These examples are only a few but they are by no means in isolation yet each one is followed by a public apology by Sandilands’ employers (http://www.2dayfm.com.au/shows/kyleandjackieo/kyle-sandilands-statement-december-2011, http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/kyle-asandilands-and-jacki-o-return-to-air-and-apologise-for-lie-detector-controversy/story-e6frewz0-1225763076271, http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/859555/kyle-sandilands-offends-again.) Anyone who even dares to criticise this man publicly is likely to bear the full brunt of his wrath but thankfully (for him) his employers will quickly step up with a public apology on his behalf. After all, Kyle Sandilands would never openly or genuinely agree to apologise unless under duress as he sees his retaliations as justified as a constitutional right of free speech. Perhaps someone needs to explain to Mr Sandilands that the right of free speech is mute when civil liberties such as public decency and safety are compromised.
